My Students

Oh, the joy of experiencing the moment that it becomes clear for one of my kids! Those are the moments that make everything 'ok' in my educational world! Those are the experiences I strive to provide my students on a daily basis! Our school serves students in grades K-5 and provides the rigor and safe learning environment that every child deserves. Our amazing team of 5th-grade teachers service the most dynamic group of 74 students (4 classes of about 18 students)! Many of those children come from bilingual homes and more than 80% receive free or reduced lunch! They come to school each day ready to try new things and embrace opportunities to grow both personally and academically. They absolutely love engaging in hands-on activities and challenges that allow them to think innovatively to find solutions!

My Project

We use whiteboards daily in class for math. It's a quick and easy way for my students to work through guided, collaborative and independent math problems as we go through the lesson. I will be able to receive a quick look at what my students are understanding and what specific skills or concepts that I need to further address without prolonging issues. By donating to this project, you will be ensuring that my students are receiving the most effective and quick corrective feedback and instructions to prepare them for their future... To prepare them with a toolbox of strategies and skills needed for jobs that have yet to be created... But when they are... My junior mathematicians will be ready!
