My Project

I have a wonderful class of second graders. They love to learn and they love to play, so I like to teach through play. Each week, we give the students an opportunity to play math and reading/word games. The math games give me a chance to reteach concepts and it gives the students a chance to practice addition, subtraction, place value, money, and time. The reading games reinforces letter sounds, spelling, and reading.

The students absolutely LOVE when it's Game Time!

They rotate through game stations so they are able to practice more than one concept each time. Our games are used so much that they are getting tattered and some are now too easy for the students. I would like to add new games to the rotation that will keep them engaged and increase the students' learning.
