This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are a delightful group of children! I can't wait to start each day with them. They are so eager to learn and make the best of a post-COVID classroom. Students volunteer excitedly to share their learning during classroom discussions. The students diligently listen to one another and add on to each other's contributions. Classroom discussions are intelligent and spirited.

The scholars in our classroom community are inquisitive and exuberant, particularly when it comes to math and art.

Their efforts are admirable and so encouraging! I am so proud of their efforts to make the best of circumstances. Over half of our school's population come from low-income households. Though our financial resources may be low, our enthusiasm for learning is sky-high! I know that my class of students will do their best as we start the second half of our school year.

Using Perler beads, the students will create designs that capture their imagination and help them express their creativity. They will then be able to connect their art to math by finding fractions, decimals, and even percentages of each color they used to create their design. We'll also display their works of art and math for all to see!
