We start every morning in our class with good morning songs and warm up exercises exercise to get our bodies and minds warmed up for the day! All day long my students are learning through hands on activities in science, math, literacy, and more! In our class, learning is fun!
I have 20 students in my classroom ranging from 3 to 5 years old.
My classroom is an inclusion classroom which means I have 6 students that have special needs ranging from medically fragile to developmentally delayed. In my classroom the special needs students are not segregated. They join us for all activities all day, and we make modifications as needed. Everyone is accepted, and we all love each other because we are a "school family". This type of classroom teaches acceptance and perseverance for all students involved. It is a very positive and active learning environment.
My Project
My students will use the numbered stepping stone set to work on math skills such as number recognition and number order in a fun physical way. It will also allow students to work on their gross motor skills of balance and moving on variety of levels.
This donation will help my students gain skills needed for kindergarten by adding a fun element that students can use to work on their gross motor skills as well as math skills.
Now learning numbers can be done outside on the playground not just inside at the tables! Students who are more physical learners will benefit immensely from this type of practice with their numbers, as will the traditional auditory and visual learners, will benefit from the fun extra practice!
