Math Needs Great Handwriting, Too!

I need a drawing pad to help make the writing in my math videos for students more legible and to help with in-class problems using collaborative whiteboard software.

My Students

Our students are a diverse cross-section from across the city. We have students from all races, students who are English-language learners, students with learning difficulties, students who take accelerated college course work, students who may be the first in their family to graduate high school, the first to go to college, or the first to attend formal school at all.

Our students celebrate their differences and support each other within our shared school culture.

Our students work together to create positive relationships and traditions to promote learning. Our school uses project-based learning and is fortunate enough to be one-to-one.

My Project

Currently, I use a mouse as my drawing tool to create math videos and hold digital whiteboard workshops with my students using the program "A Web Whiteboard." The Wacom Drawpad will replace my mouse as my main writing tool for videos and interactive whiteboard lessons I have with my students.

Have you ever tried to write an equation on a digital surface with a mouse -- It looks like you are back in kindergarten.

With the addition of the Wacom Drawpad in my classroom, students will have a much more legible live experience, as well as videos that are personalized to the class but rival the sharpness and precision of Khan Academy.

The Wacom Accessory pack will allow me to use the Drawpad wirelessly, so I can join my students in their workshops and still have my computer connected to the projector.
