Help me give my students the math manipulatives they need to learn at school or home!
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Curtis's classroom raised $582

My Students
My students are bold, curious, kind, and fun-loving! They challenge themselves to learn and grow. "Give me a first grade math problem, Ms. Curtis!" is often heard in this kindergarten class. Now, we are moving together to first grade (teachers and students), and they are looking forward to even more challenges.
Many of them are from low-income households and do not have the resources needed to effectively learn remotely.
Our elementary school is located near downtown Atlanta, GA. For the last three months of the 2019-2020 school year, we were distance learning. We do not yet know what the next school year will look like, but it's very likely there will be some amount of distance learning.
These amazing students have continued to thrive and engage throughout distance learning. They critically need physical, hands-on, learning tools as much as they need technology.
My Project
Math manipulatives are a critical tool in helping young students master math concepts. In our current state of distance learning, this is one of the most important missing elements. Students really need hands-on interaction with manipulatives to make math come to life! For example, they can use ten-frames and counters to physically represent an addition problem. They can use base ten blocks to visualize place value.
These individual math manipulative kits will help my students bridge the gap from classroom to distance learning!
They include everything that the students need to make math concepts concrete and tangible. They can use these kits at home for distance learning or at school so that we are not sharing supplies.
Please help support quality math instruction for my students no matter where it happens!
Nearly all students from low‑income households
