Math Minds

My students need lots of opportunities to be successful in math. My practicing counting money every day with the magnetic coins, use the 10 frames to focus our work on adding to 10 and beyond.

My Students

Students that attend my school come from many different backgrounds. Some have lots of experiences to help them become successful, while others come from a much different background.

The students that walk through my classroom door are part of many different communities and their background is a story to tell and many of the children come from low income families.

Many of the children speak another language other than English. The students that I work with need many opportunities to show what they know and what they can become in the future. These students have a lot of drive and desire to learn as much as they can but in order to do that I need your help!

My Project

Working with children who come to school in my classroom come from backgrounds that they need opportunities to practice these skills to become better at math. In this project students will be able to use pattern blocks to help with algebra skills; ten frames to be successful in addition facts to 10; using the magnetic coins to practice counting money; dominos to make addition math problems. These are a few of things we can do with these materials to help my students be good problem solvers; be excited about math and fully engaged in our learning! I am excited to see the growth that my students can make!!
