it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Hello! Thank you for reading about my proposed project! I am so fortunate to work with such incredible children from the S.H. School District. Currently, I am the Math Academic Intervention teacher and I work with students in first and second grade. I have the pleasure of working with children who are identified as needing support to help them build their math computation, fluency and application skills to help to meet the demands of the math curriculum.
One of the many things that I love about our district is the diversity.
We are considered a Title 1 school which means 40% of the children are considered at the poverty level. Despite the many challenges they face, they are always willing to participate in engaging activities and are eager to learn! I strive to provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences!
My Project
My math students would love these new math materials so they can learn new math skills by exploring and playing. My students need much practice with basic computation and number sense. These materials will help them learn the necessary math concepts needed to be successful! The students will be engaged, feel successful and have fun while learning! Your generous donation will improve my Math Academic Support Program! The materials from this project will allow over 60 students access to more math games and manipulatives than they currently have. Students learn best by doing and being actively involved in their own learning!
