Help me give my students new and exciting math stations for the rest of our year with addition/subtraction flip books, a magnetic numbers & operations kit, magnetic pattern blocks, and pop and add addition game!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
As a teacher in a low-income/high-poverty area, my students are faced with many challenges both in and out of the classroom. Every child in our school receives free or reduced-price lunch, and a large percentage of students are considered homeless. Despite this, my students are excited to be part of a learning community where they feel safe and cared for.
Our classroom is an area where students are encouraged to work hard, collaborate with one another, and communicate clearly.
I encourage learning through exploration and value the intrinsic curiosity of my students.
My Project
We love math time in our classroom! My students love having interactive math stations to keep them engaged and learning. I like to change out our math stations frequently so my students don't lose interest in them. My students absolutely love math games and puzzles. However, I am having to create a lot of these games and activities on my own.
With so many standards and exciting things to learn, we need enough materials and station activities to continue to grow our brains!
Having an addition center, shaping sorting, and new math puzzles would allow us to have new and exciting differentiated stations. These activities would allow us to have even more options during our free choice math stations.
