My Students

Let's face it- technology is present in every aspect of our lives. Students today need various types of devices to assist them while they are in school.

I teach a class of amazing 1st grade students.

There is a strong sense of community at our school. The faculty, staff, and student population strive for success each day. Approximately 41% of our students are on free and reduced lunches. Many of the students come from diverse backgrounds and have special needs.

My Project

My school is a BYOT (Bring Your Own Technology) program. Truthfully most of the students are not able to bring in their own technology devices. Having this Ipad in the classroom will enable all the students to have a chance with working with modern day technology. It is a tool for learning that they might not have access to at home. The students will be able to engage on the Ipad independently or with a partner on various learning games. The Ipad has many, many types of apps for math,. ranging from simple computation, place value and critical thinking. I will also be able to tailor the needs of the students (remediation/enrichment) with the different apps.

Making a difference in the lives of children is the most important thing to me.

The Ipad will not only help the students learn better but it will also help them become problem solvers and use the 21st century skills present today. The Ipad is also a valuable tool because it will provide endless hours of learning.
