Math Materials for Accessibility: Designing Inclusive Tools
Help me give my students ways to learn using hands-on manipulatives. The Pop It Fidget Toys are great for learning multiplication facts, Geoboards support understanding of Geometry concepts, and the laminator keeps projects protected.

My Project
Project Goals:
The primary goal of the Math Materials for Accessibility project is to enhance student focus, engagement, and academic achievement in mathematics.
By designing inclusive tools tailored to meet diverse learning needs, we aim to create a supportive learning environment that fosters understanding and mastery of math concepts for all students.
Key Deliverables:
Comprehensive Math Materials: Development of a range of educational resources that cater to various levels of mathematical understanding, from basic math facts to Geometry and Algebra 1 concepts. These materials will be designed to be accessible and engaging for all students, including those with learning disabilities and English Language Learners (ELL).
Increased Understanding of Math Concepts: Through the implementation of these materials, we expect to see a measurable improvement in students’ comprehension of key math concepts. Our focus will be on interactive and practical tools that promote active learning and retention of mathematical skills.
Additional Information:
With 50% of our student population coming from low-income families and our school recognized as a Title I institution in 2022, this project is critical for providing the necessary support to our learners. Many of our students qualify for Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), 504 Plans, or are recognized as ELL, highlighting the urgent need for tailored educational resources.
The Math Materials for Accessibility project represents a commitment to equity in education, ensuring that all students, regardless of their backgrounds or learning challenges, have the tools they need to succeed in mathematics. Your support and generosity in providing these resources will make a significant difference in their academic journey and overall confidence in their mathematical abilities.
