This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I want to give my special education students the tools needed to understand fractions and how they operate. Math is a struggle for everyone across the board, something I can do to help provide these students with real-world problems in which fractions are involved. Exchange money and understanding percentages can be scary for students if they don't have an understanding of the concept. With these tools, students will be able to model correct fractions and apply them to real life. If I can give them one thing through this class, it is to feel comfortable once they get out of school and are hopefully on their own.
