This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As first-time students, many of my kindergarteners are so excited to begin their educational journey. As a STEMM school, we focus on the importance of math in our everyday lives.
My students would greatly benefit from using math manipulatives in order to practice foundational math skills during small group centers.
I will be creating math manipulative boxes for students to practice counting, addition, and subtraction. Inside these boxes, there will be unifix cubes, laminated puzzles from TpT, and number magnets. They will use these manipulative boxes and magnetic whiteboards to reinforce the concepts taught during whole group math lessons.
My students love math center time, and they will be so excited to have new math puzzles to learn and play with throughout the year!
