Math Manipulatives!

Help me give my students manipulatives to understand math better. Fractions is a hard concept to grasp and the class set of fraction tiles would allow the students to individually explore to learn and master this skill!

My Students

Sandy Elementary is a Title I school so many of the students come from low income families. There are also a lot of students who are learning English for the first time.

Despite all of these struggles my students this year are absolutely amazing!

It’s only a little into the school year and they already love each other and are working hard. I have a sports theme in my classroom and try to really emphasize the importance of being a “team”. We just need a couple of things to help us build our team even stronger.

My Project

These math manipulatives will allow the students to explore with numbers and fractions hands on. Each students learns differently, but a lot learn kinesthetically. The whiteboard sleeves will allow us to quickly switch papers to make group learning more interactive.

Children now days need to be challenged and engaged at a higher level.

I know that these supplies would allow my students to achieve this goal.

Students that have a visual representation of mathematics standards and procedures are better to apply them in real life situations and problems. Having hands on activities will provide opportunities for students that are otherwise unavailable.
