Many students enter high school still having gaps in their middle school math skills like calculations of negative and positive numbers. This causes them to struggle with Algebra which is very frustrating and defeating.
I want my students to feel successful and excited about math.
These manipulatives will help me fill in gaps in their learning so they can move on and conquer more difficult Algebra skills.
The algebra tiles will help them learn to combine like terms and solve equations. The counters, beaded number lines, and number lines on the whiteboards will help them learn to calculate with negative and positive numbers. The calculators will be a classroom tool that they can use to work Algebra problems while they are mastering pre-algebra skills. The spinners will be used to do some probability problems. The dry erase markers will be used with the dry erase boards.
