This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are amazing kiddos who come from some rough backgrounds but still find a way to come to school ready and excited to learn. Many students in my class come in far behind where they should be based on national norms but they do not let that hold them back.
Working through many different difficult situations they still find a way to shine.
My kiddos inspire me every day with their love for learning and desire to be the best version of themselves and I count myself very lucky to be their teacher.
My Project
Math in third grade is HUGE! This is the year that we are building foundations for multiplication, division, area, perimeter, and fractions! Having these basic understandings engrained in their brain is hugely important, especially if we want them to be successful when they move on to 4th grade.
Math can get dry and boring at times for students- especially for third graders who are just constantly practicing their multiplication facts!
That is why I want my kids to be able to work on their math skills in fun and new ways. Playing games are a way to have them not even realize that they are practicing their foundational skills!
