This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are hardworking, creative, and eager to learn. They are 5 and 6 years old and love to come to school every day to see what I have planned for them and the new things to explore in the classroom. Their excitement drives me to come up with more creative and new ways to teach. To do this, our materials must be easily accessible and organized.
The school that I teach at is located in a low socioeconomic area and operates with 94% free and reduced lunch assistance which is higher than the state's average of 50.2%.
This shows that my school's neighborhood has a high level of poverty and my students deserve this project to be funded to allow them more art and exploration activities.
My Project
This project would help my students better access our math manipulatives from our math curriculum. We have various items such as connecting cubes, attributes blocks, color tiles, pattern blocks, etc. and no one to put them. That's where this amazing cabinet with clear bins would come in handy.
Every classroom needs their materials to be located in an easy accessible location so that they are used daily.
This cabinet with storage bins would allow each math manipulative to be kept in its own bin and placed in the easily accessible and organized cabinet. This cabinet would help and show my students the importance of taking care of materials and storing them properly.
