My Students

My students are from varied racial, ethnic, and SES backgrounds. All of the students in our school receive free lunch & breakfast.

They all have different learning modalities.

One way we learn is by using manipulatives. Storing and organizing these materials can be challenging.

We could benefit from new chair pockets to store and easily access our manipulatives that we use daily. We can use these to store counters, ten frames, shape templates, math money, tens and ones cubes, magnetic letter tiles and board and dry erase board.

My Project

My students use many math manipulatives on a daily basis. We need an easily accessible, yet organized manner to store these important tools. Chair pockets are the key to teaching them how to stay organized, prepared, and use these tools correctly. The chair pockets will enable each student to be responsible for his / her materials. He or she will have them at their fingertips to take out as needed to solve math work. At the same time, it will take clutter away from desks and class supply baskets. So chair pockets will enable them to be independent and organized.
