My Project

The students in my classroom have a variety of interests, backgrounds, and strengths. One thing that they all have in common is a deficit in their math skills. This project is for math manipulatives that will allow me to close the gap on my seventh grade special education students' deficits and make math more of a strength for them.

My students learn best from hands-on learning with concrete objects.

These manipulatives will help increase their understanding of those difficult middle school math skills, allowing them to see relationships between numbers, and creating an avenue to move from concrete thinking to abstract ideas. The storage solutions included in the project will ensure that my students have access to their manipulatives in an organized manner.
