This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The math manipulatives I am requesting will enhance the learning my students are experiencing in my classroom. When working on topics such as probability, it is hard for students to visualize a spinner or dice. These manipulatives will foster the mind body connection needed to turn abstract concepts into concrete learning. As students enter middle school, math becomes difficult because students are no longer provided opportunities to work with hands on materials. I want to show my students that math is still fun, and we can learn these tougher ideas with exciting materials that can be manipulated by our hands.
