My Students
My students are from a large, urban community that welcomes families from all backgrounds. They bring a blend of diversity, prior experiences, and culture to our school. I teach in a kindergarten inclusion classroom where several of my students receives special education services as well as ESL services. The majority of my students receive free breakfast and lunch, which are now being served remotely to every child that needs it.
My Project
Please help me provide my students with manipulatives and supplies that they need in order to support their learning at home due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Students are not able to leave their homes due to the quarantine in Boston. My kindergarten students are creative and clever, but they need a variety of math materials and hands-on materials.
I will create take-home math kits for each student that includes a number line, hundreds chart, counting bears, snap cubes, and other math manipulatives to support their learning and growth at home.
