This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My classroom is a self-contained kindergarten class. My student population consists of students with an autism spectrum disorder, learning disabilities, and intellectual disabilities.

Working with this population can be difficult, but it is super rewarding within this environment.

I teach the most interesting, caring, well-behaved scholars ever. My school is a student-centered environment filled with world-class teachers. As a team, we are continuously brainstorming ways to evolve as educators, and we are also advocates for family involvement in the learning process.

My Project

Help me give my students math manipulatives they can use at home! My students need unifix cubes, counting bears, 2 color counters, counting chips, ten frames and dry erase markers to help them learn while at home.

Learning remotely should be just as fun and engaging as when in the classroom!

My kindergarten students struggled this past year learning remotely because they didn't have the means to purchase all the items they need to be successful while learning remotely. I am looking to make each child a take home kit that will contain everything they need to engage actively while learning at home.
