My Students

I teach in a school in Tucker, GA where more than half of our students come from low-income households. These kids are AMAZING and so special to me. We departmentalize in upper-elementary so I teach math and science to two classes of students.

All students need to feel safe and be engaged in order to reach their true potential, and I believe these flexible seating options will give them the best opportunity to learn in a welcoming, comfortable environment.

With 4th grade being such an important year, between personal/academic growth and standardized testing, I want to make sure I give these kids the best. My hope is that each INCREDIBLE FUTURE LEADER who enters and exits my classroom will feel loved and capable of whatever they work hard at and determine to accomplish!

My Project

Teaching fourth grade for a few years, I have learned that even they need to be able to use manipulatives to gain a concrete understanding of the standards. So, I am requesting fraction decimal students hands-on set for the students to be able to use to gain mastery of our fractions and decimal standards. The visuals will allow the students to gain more of an understanding. I am also asking for place value hands-on student kits to help my students master expanded form, word form, and standard form. Lastly, the multiplication kit will allow my students to practice their multiplication facts independently while checking their work. All the math resources will help my students to develop into strong 4th grade mathematicians.
