My Project

I've spent the last few years in a kindergarten classroom where students are seated at tables and math materials are stored in large containers and must be distributed to each table before a lesson. I will be moving to a first grade classroom where students will be seated in desks and will be able to store their needed materials at their seat. I am excited for the move, but the problem is my lack of storage containers for students.

Our math program contains some great materials, but keeping them organized and lesson ready is the challenge.

Manipulatives are a must to allow hands on practice and enhance learning during math lessons However, passing out these manipulatives is time consuming and takes away learning time.

The small storage containers will help me create individual manipulative kits that students can keep in their desk and the larger containers will store materials on shelves so they are readily available for students to grab. This organization will lessen prep time and increase learning time during math.
