Students are now pressured to meet all of the standards of the common core. What about the students who need even more?
My students are a bright group of kindergarteners at a title 1 school.
They are hard workers and absolutely LOVE to learn. They are all working at different ability levels. They all receive common core instruction, but they all need individualized instruction as well.
My Project
These math activities and manipulatives I am requesting will take their kindergarten math to the next level. We group the children by ability levels into three groups. This is so great because they get all of the support they need through their common core instruction. The problem we face, is the "What to do" to make this even better. Some of the students are ready to soar! These projects will help them but another wonderful thing about these activities is that they also give the struggling students another intriguing way to practice their skills.
We are constantly creating our own "math centers" to finish after our core instruction is finished.
These projects won't help just my class, but the other two classes of active young learners. Let's keep learning fun!
