Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are from a diverse and high poverty population. They are hardworking and enthusiastic about learning. Every day, they come to school despite hardships and engage in rigorous instruction. Our students take pride in our school. We are their extended family and they count on us to educate and guide them everyday. We have a large group of immigrant students. They are in our classrooms with little or no English skills. Despite their struggles, we perform at a high level.
My Project
This project is all about getting students excited about math and build their mathematical thinking.
The use of manipulatives helps students hone their mathematical thinking skills.
The effective use of math manipulatives can help students connect ideas and integrate their knowledge. This can help them gain a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts.
Math is a very abstract subject and can be challenging.
This project will help support our students learning and provide access to help learn with manipulatives.
