Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Students in our school have many talents and abilities. Unfortunately many of their circumstances don't allow opportunities for extra curricular activities or other support for their academic learning. Our school is a safe place where they can get a break.

They have so much potential and do amazing things when given the tools to succeed.

Last year I saw a huge improvement with just a few manipulatives added to our class. Please help our students realize learning and growing can be fun.

The majority of students in our school have difficult personal lives. They have little consistency. Often they turn away from school. They need to know that the community is invested in their well being.

My Project

Students will use the materials to build using math concepts. They will compute math and then put it to use as they build. My students need to see math in motion. These items will allow us to change our classroom into a mini innovation center or maker space.

Student engagement will soar.

I'll have students loving to come to class to create and problem solve. My students rarely have opportunity to do activities where they are learning and gaining confidence as they work in teams to construct. Math will have new meaning for years to come. Thanks for your consideration.
