My Project
Project Goal:
To provide LCD writing tablets for my math students to improve engagement, practice problem-solving, and receive immediate feedback in a paperless and efficient way.
My Project:
I am requesting a set of LCD writing tablets for my classroom. These devices will allow students to quickly jot down equations, sketch geometric figures, and practice algebraic manipulations without wasting paper. The ability to erase with a single tap makes them perfect for working through multiple-step problems, and they are an excellent tool for formative assessment.
With these tablets, I can implement more engaging activities, such as:
Quick checks for understanding during lessons
Peer-to-peer problem-solving and discussion Exit tickets to assess comprehension Interactive geometry explorations aligned to Next Generation Standards
The Impact:
By incorporating LCD writing tablets into our classroom, students will be able to work more efficiently, focus on the math rather than rewriting problems, and gain confidence in their problem-solving skills. These tablets will also reduce the need for excessive paper use, making our classroom more environmentally friendly.
My Students:
I teach Algebra 2 Regents and Geometry, with my Geometry class aligned to the Next Generation Standards. My students are hardworking and eager to learn, but they often struggle with showing their mathematical thinking in a way that allows for quick feedback and corrections. Many rely on traditional notebooks, which can be limiting when working through complex problems collaboratively.
