My Project
As a kindergarten teacher, I am committed to providing engaging and effective learning experiences for my students. One area where I see a great opportunity for improvement is in mathematics, particularly in developing foundational skills such as counting on, understanding one more and one less, and combining numbers to make a total of 10.
Research has shown that hands-on, interactive activities are highly beneficial for young learners, which is why I am seeking funding to acquire a selection of board games specifically designed to reinforce these skills.
The primary objective of this project is to enhance kindergarten students' mathematical understanding and proficiency in alignment with the New York State standards. These games will be utilized during small group instruction, Response to Intervention (RTI) sessions, and center time, providing differentiated learning opportunities to meet the diverse needs of our students.
Investing in these board games will not only enhance our kindergarten students' mathematical skills but also foster a love for learning and a positive attitude towards mathematics.
