Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach the hardest working fifth graders in the Bronx. My students are enthusiastic and come to school eager to learn new things every day. I teach a variety of learners and believe in providing my students with a hands on experience. Math manipulatives are tools which foster hands on learning during our math block. The fraction set, decimal grid, geometry shapes, linking cubes and white boards are all amazing tools which increase student engagement and participation. The tools will be used in partnerships and in small groups. This kinesthetic experience will help students remember new math content and feel joy while learning new math concepts.
