My Students

I teach 35 problem solving 4th graders. Our school is a Title I school in school western Virginia. My students love learning and working together to solve problems. My students love when learning takes them out of their seats and makes them think outside the box. They love helping each other learn, grow, and succeed. We are constantly working on solving problems that require us to fail at times while also teaching them to always try again. I love watching my students continually work towards their final goal and never giving up.

My Project

Math can be a tricky subject for students to grasp and by 4th grade, some of them feel discouraged by math and don't feel they can be successful. These materials will allow my students to explore math and show what they know in a variety of ways. With materials like these, my students can see how great they are at math and build their confidence.

My goal is to make students see that math can be fun!

My students love to play math games and we would love to add to our collection. The resources from Scholastic will allow me to provide even more differentiated instruction to my students in a fun way!

A lot of my 4th graders have a lot of wiggles and providing students with a few flexible seating choices will help them focus on their math while getting their wiggles out.

I love hearing students say, "I used to think I was bad at math but now I realize I'm not!" or "Math is so much fun, it is my favorite subject!" These materials will allow me to engage my students even more.
