My students face the challenge of needing more hands on and interactive games to solidify their understanding of crucial math skills. This project will them to explore these skills at their seats individually or as small center groups.
My students are a diverse group of 3 graders who attend public school.
They struggle with mastery of basic facts-- particularly multiplication. Many also struggle with applying key concepts of other critical math skills. The skills of vital to their success in gaining and increasing mathematical understanding which will vital skills necessary to their future school and life successes.
My Project
The multiplication wrap-ups will help them get the daily exposure to facts and the computer game will allow them to test their knowledge in a non threatening and engaging way. The place value and fractions teacher and student kits will allow me to model and have students practice as they learn to explore and apply place value skills and fractions. Time boards will help students discover how to find how much time as elapsed in an interactive way. These materials will be critical in helping students apply their skills on school and state tests.
