This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have and enthusiastic class of 24 kindergarten students. They are excited to learn and ready for fun challenges academically. This year we have been focusing more on becoming more hands-on in our math tasks to become better problem solvers.
We are at a Title 1 school that is committed to the success of all students.
We have been focusing on improving our instructional practices to make sure that we create learners that are college and career ready. Our students are excited to learn and are held to high expectations. We have a great community that works together. We want to help instill a love of learning into all students.
My Project
With the new common core standards, we have increased our expectations of our students. However, I want to make sure that we do not lose the fun. These requested math folder games and measurement centers will be both fun and challenging for my students. We would use them as a more hands on method of teaching and as a way to introduce more math tasks. These games will help the students to practice and explore different math concepts to deeper their understanding.
This donation will help to improve student engagement in the classroom.
I want to make math more fun. Too many kids grow up to hate math. I want to help my students learn and have success with math.
