Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We are a class of 2nd and 3rd grade mathmaticians learning about place value and multiplication/division! We are all so excited to shift our learning to "harder numbers' The resources we have are outdated and not sparking joy for my students. We often use dry erase boards to visualize the concept. However, this takes away from the concept of either place value or multiplication/division. With these resourses our second graders will be able to have hand held manipulatives to see place value connected to a digit. With these resources our 3rd graders will be able to take their skills learned about multiplication and division and take them to a funner math workplace.
Additionally, all of my students are bilingual learners! With these affirmation cards and bilingual books, my students can see their culture being valued in the classroom.
