This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My 3rd grade class is full of talented, curious, and critical thinking military dependents who enjoy math and science and are eager to learn.

My students embraces the growth mindset; we believe in the power of "yet"!

They understand that mistakes help us to learn and are not afraid to try and fail so they can succeed!

My school serves military families; my students know sacrifices, commitment and diversity are a part of their life and realize the world is an adventure waiting for them.

My Project

The students will use the math literature books during independent reading time and for math literature station activities. For example, books about fractions and time are especially helpful for students. They demonstrate a real life example.

Math literature promotes reading, critical thinking and math skills while engaging the reader.

These materials will make a significant difference because the books will encourages my students to use their mental math strategies while reading, to apply their critical thinking skills while promoting reading as a fun activity! Reading is the foundation for all learning and engaging students in reading during Math is critical to building a great foundation.
