Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are energetic, thoughtful and full of questions! They love hands-on, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day prepared to try new things and take chances in order to grow academically.

Many of my students at the start of the year say they "don't believe they are good at math or science", but by the years end that statement morphs into their excitement for all things STEM-related!!

I can't be more proud of seeing my students joy for learning shine bright like a diamond!

My Project

These books will assist my students in being able to choose books that will help them continue to enjoy independent reading time. Titles that are math and science-centric will help them see that STEAM is present in their everyday lives and not just in their classwork.

With these new books, my students will be able to choose from a variety of titles that will allow them to read independently about math and science as well as at their own grade level.

They will also be able to choose books that interest them. The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. This project will only help enrich their experiences with books.
