This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a Math Peer Facilitator at a Title I school. I have recently been given a full size classroom with a Math Lab sign, but I am desperately in need of workstations for ALL grade levels. I have NONE! These workstations will also be available for our teachers to check out and use!
We are a Title I school in a middle class neighborhood.
Currently, our enrollment is 520. Our kids are ACTIVE learners and they LOVE hands on games that allow them to interact with other classmates. Learning with workstations is much more FUN for them than learning with paper and pencils!
My Project
If I am able to receive these materials, all children will be able to access hands-on math workstations that will be FUN and engaging for them to learn the Common Core Math Standards. These games will ensure that our children develop a LOVE for learning math; as well as allow them to learn math differently. The hands-on activities will also allow our teachers to teach differently; as they will have materials that can be used to create small groups in their classrooms.
This project will make a HUGE difference in how our teachers teach math and how our children LEARN math.
It will create a classroom environment that is fun and interactive, as well as allow the teachers to differentiate instruction to reach ALL learners! My hope is that these workstations will help the children to develop a lifelong love for MATH!
