This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from various backgrounds and are from low income families. My students all have various levels of proficiency in math. The majority of my students are multi-sensory learners. They learn best when they have access to materials that will help them learn kinesthetically and visually.
My students need materials for a math kit that they will use throughout the year.
The materials in the math kit range will include graph paper, tracing paper, bottles, origami paper, scales, trays, and yardsticks. All these materials will help students learn the concepts in a timely manner.
My Project
My students are visual and kinesthetic learners. The math kits will help them grasp concepts utilizing their learning styles. The materials in the math kits will provide them with a hands on learning experience that will enable them to understand the conceptual knowledge to make connections when presented abstract math problems.
The math kits will include graph paper, origami paper, digital scales, stopwatches, cubes, yardsticks, patty paper, graduated cylinders, and beakers.
All of these materials will be used throughout the school year as new concepts are introduced. The math kits will be an essential component to my student's learning process and enable them to grasp the concepts using their preferred learning style.
