Math Just Got Easier with Rekenreks!

My students need Rekenreks to help bolster their understanding of numbers. Rekenreks will help shore up their number sense, which in turn will help them with math computations from now on.

My Students

We have wonderfully busy days. We start the morning by greeting one another then jump in with some super cute learning songs. Once we are awake and ready to go, it's down to business with Math, English Language Arts, Science and Social Studies.

My students are in a high poverty, Title I school.

However, they want more, they want to break out of the poverty and soar to higher achievements. They want to accomplish what a lot of their predecessors have been unable to do.

The kids want to understand and excel in MATH. This starts with the most basic understanding of number sense. How numbers fit together and how they are broken apart.

My Project

Grasping the understanding of numbers is sometimes difficult for young children, it is an abstract concept. However, number sense taught with a hands-on approach helps them make connections with numbers and gives them a concrete knowledge of how numbers can be manipulated.

Rekenreks will truly make numbers come alive for my students.

They will have the hands-on practice and the ability to “see” how numbers can be made in all types of ways. To “see” how numbers connect by putting them together or taking them apart.

With students having a Rekenrek they will have a resource to help provide them support for success!
