Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have 29 third graders who I enjoy teaching plus 18 students (3rd-5th graders) that I teach every morning for English reading class. What I love about my students is that they are very creative and each one of them has their own personality that makes them unique and special. They are all bilingual students that thrive for the best even though being bilingual could be challenging at times.
Despite the challenges they may face outside of the classroom, I am compromised to give them the best education so that they can reach their full potential academically, socially and emotionally.
My students come from low-income families and receive free breakfast and lunch every day. My third graders have too much to offer and dream about being professionals someday and support their community. With your help, these amazing students will accomplish their dreams!
My Project
The materials I chose in this project will definitely make a difference in my students learning. They need visuals like the rainbow fractions pocket chart to understand fractions and equivalency. They also will benefit from the giant magnetic graphing paper when learning about graphs, area, and perimeter.
These resources will help my students increase their academic skills and understand math concepts in a fun and engaging way!
Third grade is very challenging for students, and they sometimes feel they can't learn, especially my students with special needs. I want to provide them with materials that can make their math easy to understand.
