This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

With these new calculators, I will have a class set finally. This means my students won't have to leave class to go get their calculators which means fewer interruptions. It also means my students will all be working on the same type of calculator which will really come in handy when we start working on squares and square roots. It takes up so much class time trying to explain to students how to work the calculator, and then when a student has a different calculator, it takes up even more class time getting to each and every student.

Even though we have calculators on their school supply list, many of our students cannot afford one.

Having a classroom set would take away the worry and embarrassment some of my students feel when I tell them to get their calculators. My students mean the world to me and math is challenging, so I would like to help alleviate any and all other challenges that may face.
