My Project
My kindergarten class loves new challenges in their learning journey. In math, we are currently strengthening our foundation in number sense, and have begun to explore basic concepts of addition and subtraction.
My goal is to help my students feel confident in their math skills before moving on to first grade, where they will expand their understanding of mathematical concepts even further.
I plan to use these materials during center rotations, that way students can have hands-on, meaningful experiences with mathematical concepts. Learning through games is one of the best ways to learn, as they are having fun without realizing that their brains are growing! I love that both the dominoes and the puzzles have different mathematic focuses that I can bring out at different times for them to practice specific skills. The word problem puzzles are especially appealing for their dual challenge of literacy and math.
