This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from a variety of backgrounds. The school I am teaching in is an inner-city school with the same challenges as many inner-city schools.
This year I would like to provide a variety of experiences and activities that will allow students to explore meaningfully, engaging in self-directed, real-world activities while I help students who need extra time.
The resources I am requesting will be available in the classroom for students who are ready to reach further and discover new ways of exercising their brains without realizing they are doing so.
My Project
With these materials, students will be able to more easily conceptualize math concepts and realize how much math is used in their everyday lives and how to use it.
One student said: I think that the resources can help us because we can have more opportunities to experiment with new things and to find things that we like to do in math.
Also, we can learn math in different ways based on how difficult or easy it is."
My students are eager to learn and plan for their futures.
