This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
All children can learn if strongly supported and enthusiastically encouraged. I believe when a learning environment with high expectations of achievement is introduced, perpetuated by the classroom teacher and supported by the school and community, students cultivate an "I CAN do it" attitude and perform to and beyond expectations despite challenges they may face. As a teacher in a high poverty NYC public school, I am challenged to develop and foster a high expectation/high achievement learning environment with children who may have been conditioned to believe that they aren't capable of high achievement because of special needs or conditions of poverty. With resources, encouragement, and affirmation, I strive to build the efficacy my students need to succeed. Encouragement and affirmation are abundant in my classroom, but resources are not! Your support in helping change that is very much appreciated!
My Project
Anything that a student needs should be given to them. I try to supply my students with the most I can. Having supplies ready for my students make learning more enjoyable.
8th grade math there is a lot of graphing done and all these supplies will help.
We go through a lot of graph paper and EXPO markers sometimes you do the work on dry ease board. Sometimes it makes it difficult if the students done have the supplies. I have to go and find more. Many of my students are very underprivileged. We are a title one school. They mean the world!
