Math is so fun when it's hands on! Kids learn by doing...we need to teach the way they are most successful!
My students are super sweet first graders in a rural elementary school in Texas.
We are a small, 3A district that most students are economically disadvantaged! My students are eager to learn and learn by doing! I like to teach our math skills and then use math work stations to reinforce new and reviewed math skills!
My Project
I have lots of math skills to teach in First Grade! I like to teach whole group and use math work stations and calendar board to spiral learning. My students enjoy working in small groups with friends to use games to practice new skills. I am asking for a few Lakeshore Learning math kits. These kits come with the grade appropriate skill and tools to use to play a game for practice. These kits are pre-made, colorful and effective for spiral review. My groups are various abilities and is a very effective way for me to meet each child's individual needs!
This project will be beneficial to all of my students to reinforcing math skills skills.
