This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Every day is a day to learn in my role as a math support teacher at my school. I am no longer supporting one class of students, but all students who need additional support in all the grades at my school! Everyday that I push into classes and meet with my students, I see the varying needs within the grade level span that I service. In order to support them I have been taking note on additional material that I may need for my students.

I am requesting a second year of Journey Plus membership to Pam Harris's Math is Figure-Out-Able online platform. Here, I will deep dive into learning how to help students build powerful mathematics reasoning skills. This year, I will focus on helping students build multiplicative reasoning so that they don't try and memorize facts or algorithms, but build reasoning skills and see patterns in numbers.
With the Journey Plus, I'll have access to an online community of like-minded educators, coaching through live events, learn how to build powerful problem strings, and so much more! I will not only have access to online materials to get me started, but I will become more proficient in writing problem strings that will help my students become thinkers, not mimickers of math!
