Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My class is an interesting mix of culture from Native American leaders, Hispanic Artists, Caucasian Speakers and all other creative races who have the burning Spartan Spirit! We engage ourselves into STEM based activities specializing in the field of Robotics and Computer Science. It amazes me how young minds think about great things that can help their community! Everyday is a day to look forward to in class due to the number of things to learn and do to accomplish a task. In our class-home we develop a family that can help shape the future of our community!
My Project
Students keep asking why are we learning math. These materials will make them aware of where and why is math necessary to man. The robotics field is the best example of such integration. Students will be engaging in engineering inspired activities to help them appreciate learning. The geometry compasses and other manipulatives are vital tools if they were to take up engineering as their chosen career in college. The Knex Robotics kit can help them visualize and integrate math in their designs. Having them exposed to the manipulatives will prepare them to become more effective in their future career!
