Help me give my students the hands-on materials they need to be successful with learning Mathematics. The hands-on bar kit includes materials we can use daily!
I am a Special Education Resource Teacher. I work with Kindergarten, First, and Second Grade students. I love my job because I get the opportunity to help students realize their true potential! I hit the ground running by arriving at 6:00 a.m. every day. I have a caseload of 20-23 students generally and work collaboratively with parents, general education staff, and my students.
Special Education is my passion and I love observing the incredible growth from each of my students!
I work with students who have amazing gifts and challenges. My students may have attention related issues eg; ADHD, Specific Learning Disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Visual Impairments, or Cognitive Disabilities. I try to always instill in them that they can do anything!
My Project
Math Expressions curriculum encourages my Kindergarten, First, and Second Grade students to use multiple strategies to solve problems. They learn bar models, number bonds, and much more in our weekly lessons.
Students show the most significant growth when they get to experience math through hands-on learning activities!
These materials will allow my students to practice using actual materials that they can use to build a number bond, or see the numbers being compared in a bar model. In addition, to decrease regression, I'm requesting some materials for families to use throughout the summer for skill review. Thank-you for your consideration of my project!
