Help me give my students math resources in order to foster successful financial literacy and math skills!
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Fluker's classroom raised $574

My Project
Within math lessons, scholars will be able to access base ten and fraction manipulatives, as well as calculators, in order to help solve math (number and word) problems. Often scholars who are a bit more challenged by math will need my assistance. During activity time I will sit with small groups, and scaffold problems using math manipulatives.
Adding, subtraction, multiplying and dividing are major operations grade 4 mathematicians will learn, and practice over the school year.
Having access to manipulatives will allow for them to learn, and have fun while doing so! English Language Learners need comprehensible input, and what better way to foster their abilities than through hands on experiences!
Lastly, "Time for Kids" magazine gives students realistic knowledge about what's happening in the world today. The Financial Literacy magazine will be used during math and ELA time. I will also be able to use this magazine for homework, and encourage students to connect with family members about how math relates to our everyday financial lives.
