My Students
My students love learning! They are inquisitive and eager. It is a joy to see the wonders of the world through their eyes. They are excited and invested in their learning. I love how they are able to look past themselves and have empathy and understanding of others. They are a joy to teach.
My Project
Second graders need to add and subtract large numbers by the end of the year. They often have trouble with computation because they do not understand place value. They need to understand place value in order to be able to add and subtract.
These materials will give my students opportunities to compose and decompose numbers and to gain a deep understanding of place value.
Students will use these hands-on materials to represent and understand numbers. These resources will help lay the foundation for their understanding of math in second grade and beyond.
